Public Speaking 3 and 4

Public Speaking 5 and 6

Trinity College London Speech Communication Arts Assessments

Public Speaking 3 and 4

(For children 9 and 10 years old)
Students become confident, expressive and reflective speakers demonstrating their abilities to question, as well as to respond meaningfully. They work on speaking pieces of verse and prose to the group from memory, clearly, audibly and with evident understanding. They will learn to talk from personal experience about a hobby, interest or activity and respond to questions about it. They will begin to keep a study journal.

Public Speaking 5 and 6

(For children 11 and 12 years old)
At this level, we focus on the skill of reading aloud expressively and the ability to select and talk about books. Students are encouraged to extend their understanding and response beyond first impressions, considering the context and subtext, through discussion and background study. They will also develop further the skills to listen, understand and respond appropriately. They will use the study journal reflectively.
